  • A Legacy of Precision: The 1950s and the Birth of Ultra-Thin Masterpieces

For collectors, the 1950s were marked by the creation of exceptional calibres whose slenderness was matched only by the beauty of their construction.

Vacheron Constantin, a Maison steeped in centuries of watchmaking tradition, played a key role in this era by introducing the ultra-thin 1001 and 1003 movements. The calibre 1001, known for its precision regulator, was recognised as a chronometer-quality calibre.

Launched in 1955 to celebrate the Manufacture's 200th anniversary, the calibre 1003 was the world's thinnest movement at the time, measuring just 1.64 mm thick, and is still considered one of the highest-quality manual-winding models ever produced.

Inspired by the ultra-thin masterpieces of the 1950s, Vacheron Constantin launched the Patrimony collection in 2004, exactly 20 years ago, which is a testament to the Maison's enduring commitment to understated elegance and exceptional craftsmanship. This collection embodies the spirit of classic traditional watchmaking, distinguished by its refined design and a rare aura of sophistication

Born out of the effervescence of the 1950s, today it is the symbol of renewal – an ode to the essential. On the wrist, the circle is reinvented and stands apart in its purest form of expression. The signature of classicism and unwavering elegance.

The Overseas collection travels to a new territory with its first-ever sunburst green dials.

The 42.5mm Overseas model features a column-wheel chronograph, a date aperture, and an oscillating weight engraved with the collection's emblematic compass rose.

In keeping with the collection's sporting vocation, this pink gold model, with its open sapphire crystal caseback is also water-resistant to 150 meters thanks to a screw-down crown.
