Engineering beyond time

For over 150 years, IWC has combined tradition, innovation, and precision to engineer six watch families handcrafted in Schaffhausen. The art takes place under ideal watchmaking conditions: a centuries-old horological tradition, modern factory premises, and a hydropower plant driven by the Rhine to run machines.

The Maison masters every step of the production process behind in-house movements and complications such as the minute repeater, the tourbillon and the perpetual calendar.

Pioneers of luxury watches

Bringing together up to several hundred individual parts to create outstanding wristwatches, each watch is individually assembled.

The Portugieser family is one of the oldest and best-known watches. The iconic design includes an imposing size, simple Arabic numerals, slim feuille hands and railway-track-style chapter ring. Another style symbol, Ingenieur combines rugged sportiness with an extreme robustness which includes shock protection and reliable screening from magnetic fields.
